Seley Services Before & After

At Seley Painting Services, we do a lot of custom woodwork staining and repair for our customers.  Woodwork in homes is often dinged, scratched or severly worn.  We specialize in the maintenance, refinishing and renewal of these woodwork surfaces.

Take a look at some of our before and after pictures to get an idea of our refinishing process:

This Week At Seley Services: Tumble Creek At Suncadia

This week we have a Seley crew painting and staining a client's vacation home in Tumble Creek at Suncadia, a residential community near Cle Elum.  The mountain climate of Tumble Creek brings snowy winter conditions that damage and wear out homes' finishes.

Take a look at these photos to see our team stain the siding with Sherwin Williams Hawthorne stain, and painting the trim with Cabot  semi-solid white.

Staining The Exterior Of Your Home

Many people choose to stain their home's cedar siding instead of painting it.  Staining adds rich color and texture, bringing a natural look to your home which is especially popular here in the Northwest.  Below are pictures of siding on which the stain had been weathered by the direct sunlight.  The before and after shots show how much the siding color was improved after a fresh coat of stain.  For this job, the Seley crew used a custom color Daly's stain.

Below is another example of a home Seley Services is staining.  Similar to the above example, this home's stain has been worn and weathered by sun and rain.  One coat of stain will keep the house looking like new.  We also used Daly's custom stain color for the home below.

How Seley Services Can Touch Up The Worn Woodwork In Your Home

Have you noticed lately that the baseboards or woodwork in your home are looking dinged or worn?  Kids, pets, house cleaning (and clumsy husbands) are often the culprits.  The good news is, we have a quick and easy fix... we can tape off the area that needs repair and touch up - we fill in the cracks, scrapes or dings, and repaint them with the exact color of the existing paint.  Here's are a few videos demonstrating the Seley crew at work.

Today at the Seley Shop...

Today at the Seley Painting shop, we're staining cabinets and drawers for a new kitchen.  We began the process at Six Walls Interior Design to come up with a custom color scheme for the client, then used Daly's product to create two stain colors for the kitchen woodwork.

The kitchen island will be darker than the rest of the kitchen woodwork, creating an accent piece to the room.   The island color is created using a two-step process, first applying Daly's dye #1/2 242.  For the second coat, we used Daly's stain #1/2 184.  These two colors together give the island a dark java bean color with a hint of black.

The rest of the kitchen is done with a lighter stain color, Daly's 1/2 49.  All of the kitchen cabinets and woodwork are being finished with Campbell's Krystal Satin conversion varnish.

Staining With Daly's "Java Bean" Wood Stain

Today in the Seley Services shop, we stained a piece of sapele wood with Daly's "Java Bean" wood stain.  Sapele is a dense wood that is very similar (and a great alternative) to mahogany.  It's durability and unique graining make it a popular choice for hardwood floors.  Take a look at our before & after photos... it only took a few minutes to transform our sample piece!
